Suzaku (スザク) - Level Design Project

This project is part of my university final year submission. I wanted to learn more about 3D as most of my games/projects were made using 2D assets.

This was my first attempt at using Blender, and using some unreal engine online learning, I experimented with lighting, and reflections, fog. I made all the content within the game.

The main focus was level design, and I wanted to go from drawing to modelling and getting it working and running in game. The overall theme/ inspiration was Zelda and Okami.

I had bigger plans for a larger prototype but decided I wanted to dial it back and focus on something smaller and concrete.

If you want to play this game or any project I've made you can find and download it here at or watch playthroughs:

When the player falls down a pit before making a walk way they will overlap with a killzone initiating their demise. If the player dies fighting it will be shown as if the game is paused.

Due to the project being a prototype I had to put some concept of a victory, If the project was continued I would try to add more to the level, or continue to another.

Original concept of the game was to be similar to a zelda game, the idea was to get the princess from the cave who had been captured and return her to her father. This was a concept image of the chieftan's (father's) room.

Initial character concepts, I wanted to try and create a character who would be easy to model, and not too realistic anatomically.
